What Do People Want Most of All?
They want to be recognized and accepted for who they really are. 
Really? What about all those who are after more money and more power. Isn’t that what motivates most of the world?
It would seem so, but let’s look at it more closely.
What does money bring us?
Security, freedom, the ability to do what we want, power.
What does power bring us?
Security, freedom, the ability to do what we want, money.
Also a sense of accomplishment, of victory, a boost in self esteem.
What is self esteem?
A belief in our worth and abilities, a comfort with who we really are.
Ah, back to that again. Now few of us have true comfort with who we really are so it’s a balm to our soul when another person approves of us.
Seeking approval
We all know looking for others’ approval leads to trouble, but if we’re completely honest, just about everyone welcomes it. Ideally, we’re not a slave to getting it, but truthfully, we’d all rather be in an environment that approves of us than one that doesn’t.
What causes trouble is when we change who we are in order to get approval.
Ahhhh but doesn’t it feel good when people really see who you are, accept you and recognize your gifts?
